What material for corrugated cable tray stamping accessories?

Corrugated cable tray stamping accessories include connecting pieces, fixing brackets, splice plates, cover clips, wall mounts, cross connectors and seismic fasteners. Material selection depends on service environment (indoor dry, outdoor coastal, chemical workshop, food factory), load requirements and anti-corrosion standards. Below are mainstream metal substrates matched to different scenarios.

1. Hot-dip galvanized steel (Most widely used general material)

Material grade: Q235 hot rolled / SPCC cold rolled substrate with hot-dip zinc coating

Features: Low cost, thick zinc layer (60–80μm), strong anti-rust performance, pass 500h+ neutral salt spray test.

Applicable scenarios: Outdoor engineering, factory workshops, underground pipe corridors, municipal power projects, regular corrugated cable tray supporting stampings.

Process: Coil stamping forming first, then integral hot-dip galvanizing to cover stamping cut edges without exposed bare steel.

Typical accessories: L brackets, Z hanging supports, straight splice plates, cross connecting sheets.

2. Electro-galvanized cold rolled steel (Indoor dry environment)

Material grade: SPCC cold rolled steel with electro-galvanized + color passivation

Features: Thin uniform zinc layer, smooth surface, low price, simple production. Anti-corrosion performance weaker than hot-dip galvanized.

Applicable scenarios: Indoor data centers, office buildings, indoor electrical rooms without humidity and corrosive gas.

Limitation: Not for outdoor, coastal or chemical environments; white rust easily occurs after long-term damp exposure.

3. 304 stainless steel (Humid, slightly corrosive environment)

Material grade: 0.8–2.0mm SUS304 stainless steel strip

Features: Natural passivation film, excellent rust resistance, no need secondary galvanizing, resistant to rain, mild humidity and light industrial dust.

Applicable scenarios: Pharmaceutical workshops, food processing plants, swimming pools, coastal inland projects, indoor damp basements.

Stamping performance: Good ductility for bending corrugated matching connectors, clips and fixed stampings.

4. 316L stainless steel (Highly corrosive harsh environment)

Material grade: SUS316L molybdenum-containing stainless steel

Features: Resist chloride ion erosion, anti-salt fog, acid and alkali resistance, salt spray test over 1000h.

Applicable scenarios: Coastal offshore projects, chemical factories, sewage treatment plants, marine engineering corrugated cable tray accessories.

Usage note: Higher raw material cost, only adopted for high anti-corrosion demand projects.

5. Aluminum alloy (Lightweight low-load data center use)

Material grade: 5052 aluminum alloy sheet

Features: Ultra-light weight, good thermal dissipation, natural oxidation anti-corrosion, easy stamping bending.

Applicable scenarios: Indoor server room lightweight corrugated cable trays, low-load wiring support stampings.

Surface treatment: Chemical passivation or light anodizing to boost durability.

Limitation: Low structural strength, not suitable for heavy cable load and outdoor exposed use.

6. Pre-galvanized steel strip (Continuous mass stamping accessories)

Material grade: SPGC galvanized coil (zinc coated before stamping)

Features: One-step stamping without post-galvanizing, high production efficiency, cost saving for mass standard small accessories (clips, locking fasteners).

Defect: Stamping cutting edges lose zinc layer, prone to local rust; only suitable dry indoor environment.

Matching Selection Guide by Working Condition

Ordinary indoor dry building: Electro-galvanized SPCC stamping parts

General outdoor / factory workshop: Hot-dip galvanized Q235 steel stampings

Food, medical, damp indoor: 304 stainless steel stamping accessories

Coastal, chemical, sewage environment: 316L stainless steel

Indoor data center lightweight wiring: 5052 aluminum alloy stampings
